DuckDuckGo is an internet search engine founded by Gabriel Weinberg that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results.

Good Qualities[edit source]

  1. Unlike Google, it cares about your privacy and has no filter bubble.
  2. It does not store IP addresses, nor log user information, and only uses cookies when required.
  3. It have an onion address for TOR users for better privacy.
  4. It is possible to search without JavaScript[1].

Bad Qualities[edit source]

  1. They collect your search history without tied to your IP address, but sometimes search queries can contain personal information for example if you search your name [2].
  2. They proxies Microsoft Bing which have severe privacy issues as the search results[3].
